The Howard Park Wines was founded in the year 1986 by John Wade and forms a part of the Burch Family Wines. The Burch family is one of the first wine making families of Western Australia. The brand Howard Park Wines is a five red star rated winery by the famous wine critic James Halliday. Having received the highest accolade, the winery has attained an excellence in producing outstanding quality wines.
The brand stands upon a policy which calls for excellence, continual improvement and innovation. The love for wine flows in the family line with generations of Burch family putting in their hard work in the vineyards and the winery. They have employed a talented team of winemakers - Janice McDonald and Mark Bailey who enforce the company’s philosophy and undertake each and every step in winemaking with precision. With a great family history in winemaking business, over the years, Howard Park Wines have established themselves as a specialist in the famous grape growing regions of Margaret River and Great Southern.
Possessing a great knowledge, the team researched intensely to find perfect locations and established four vineyards across the region. Their vineyards in the Margaret River are named Leston and Allingham (Jeff’s grandparents) which cultivate Chardonnay and Cab Sav. The Mount Barrow vineyard located in Great Southern, rich in virgin soil, is planted with Pinot Noir and Chardonnay cutting sourced from Burgundy while some are from their own nursery. Their fourth vineyard which is located in the same region is the oldest. It was first planted in the year 1974 by Cabernet vines.
The company accounts for production of some of the most prestigious and collected wines of the country. Its ‘Allingham’ Chardonnay & Rieslings, and the ‘Abercrombie’ Cabernet Sauvignon became synonymous for the wine style and the region. They were considered as benchmarks and later with the introduction of two more ranges, namely - ‘Regional’ and ‘Distinguished Sites’, wines by Howard Park became a choice of every wine lover.
